Zach Galifianakis Is Malfunctioning In Ron’s Gone Wrong Trailer

We all know Johnny Five was alive in Short Circuit, what if Johnny was your best friend? Today 20th Century Studios release the first UK Trailer for their animated adventure Ron’s Gone Wrong as Zach Galifianakis wants to be your friend forever…Of course battery life may vary.

The film is a t venture between 20th Century studios and UK based CG animation studio Locksmith Animation who released Arthur Christmas. This film has the same director Sarah Smith , which stars Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam!, Pixar’s Luca) and Zach Galifianakis.

We follow socially awkward boy Barney (Grazer) who is the last kid in the town to get his hands on a B*Bot. His robot is called Ron (Galifiankis) who is unfortunately malfunctioning. He wants to be his best friend and the pair embark a journey to true friendship.

This looks fantastic, with hints of a kids version of Her, there is hints something sinister might be manifesting in the background. AI taking over? Whatever it is, can’t wait to see this one!

20th Century Studios and Locksmith Animation’s “Ron’s Gone Wrong” is the story of Barney, a socially awkward middle-schooler and Ron, his new walking, talking, digitally-connected device, which is supposed to be his “Best Friend out of the Box.” Ron’s hilarious malfunctions, set against the backdrop of the social media age, launch them into an action-packed journey in which boy and robot come to with the wonderful messiness of true friendship.

The film also stars Olivia Colman, Ed Helms, Justice Smith, Rob Delaney, Ricardo Hurtado, Marcus Scribner, Kylie Cantrall, and Thomas Barbusca.

Ron’s Gone Wrong will arrive in UK and Irish cinemas from 22nd October.
