Witches Are Real! In Roald Dahl The Witches Remake UK Trailer

Witches are real as Warner Bros reveal the Official UK Trailer for Robert Zemeckis’ remake of the classic Roald Dahl’s The Witches. Hide your kids as these witches hate children!
The 1990 Nicolas Roeg original film based on Dahl’s 1983 children’s book is considered a cult favourite. For children’s story it’s tone is very dark, scary, a story that could fit easily into adult film.
The original film was in a British setting now it’s American. Anjelica Huston played the grand witch now it’s Anne Hathaway and she looks equally menacing. This Trailer suggests the darker tone is a little more lighter, comedic, however Guillermo Del Toro is one of the writers!
The basic set up looks the exact same. a tale of a young imaginative seven year old boy who goes lives with his grandmother. When they go to the seaside they arrive at their hotel when the grand high witch gathers her fellow cronies as they devise a nefarious plan.
Reimagining Dahl’s beloved story for a modern audience, Robert Zemeckis’s visually innovative film tells the darkly humorous and heartwarming tale of a young orphaned boy who, in late 1967, goes to live with his loving Grandma in the rural Alabama town of Demopolis. As the boy and his grandmother encounter some deceptively glamorous but thoroughly diabolical witches, she wisely whisks our young hero away to an opulent seaside resort. Regrettably, they arrive at precisely the same time that the world’s Grand High Witch has gathered her fellow cronies from around the globe—undercover—to carry out her nefarious plans.
This one also stars Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, Kristin Chenoweth, Chris Rock, Charles Edwards, Morgana Robinson, along side Jahzir Kadeem Bruno and Codie-Lei Eastick.
Roald Dahl’s The Witches is getting a UK and Irish cinema release, date still to be confirmed. If you live in the U.S the film is bying cinema going straight to HBO Max on 22nd October.
