Are you ready to be consumed? MUBI have released the First Teaser Trailer for Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance…What could go wrong?

For a few weeks we’ve known the Cannes award winning feminist body horror was heading to Pigeon Shrine FrightFest.

The Substance stars Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley and Dennis Quaid.  In this one, Moore is fading celebrity Elizabeth Sparkle who is refusing to give up on her stardom. That opportunity comes in shape of the substance, a cell replicating product that makes you a younger better self. But only temporary.

Revenge, Fargeat‘s directorial debut is a genre favourite, amping the buzz for this one. There is a big dig at the toxic beauty culture, and wanting to be that younger version forever. Anyone knows time waits for no one, it catches up on us all! The trailer doesn’t reveal any spoilers which is good, we cannot wait to see this!
