Watch UK Trailer for indie Silver Haze
The BFI have released the UK Trailer for indie drama Silver Haze, directed by Dutch filmmaker Sacha Polak.

The film has been making it’s rounds of film festival in 2023, with one last screening at next month’s BFI Flare. With the film nominated in various awards including the BIFA’s for Vicky Knight who reunites with Dirty God director.

Silver Haze is described as a powerful and emotionally charged depiction of working-class life in Britain. Knight is Franky a nurse in London who still hasn’t recovered from a traumatic childhood event. She embarks in a relationship with a patient Florence (Esmé Creed-Miles) who gives the emotional event to beat her demons.

The story centres around 23-year-old Franky (Vicky Knight, DIRTY GOD) who leads a life dedicated to caregiving, juggling her duties as a nurse while being the backbone of her tumultuous family in East London. Internally, Franky harbours deep-seated anger stemming from a traumatic childhood fire that left her scarred. However, her life takes a transformative turn when she embarks on a relationship with one of her patients, Florence (Esmé Creed-Miles, HANNA). The two embark on a journey to Florence’s coastal hometown, where an open-minded and ive patchwork family welcomes them. In this new environment, Franky finds the emotional sanctuary she desperately needs to confront the demons of her past.

The film also stars Charlotte Knight and Archie Brigden. Silver Haze will screen at BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival on 14th March. Then will head to UK and Irish cinemas from 29th March.
