Watch UK Trailer For French Gothic Horror The Vourdalak

The Vourdalak strange man taunts woman in headscarf

Blue Finch Films have released the UK Trailer for French gothic vampire horror The Vourdalak.

The film is harking back to the classic period vampiric horrors . To be precise Aleksey Konstantinovich Tolstoy’s 1884 vampiric novella of Gothic Romanticism “La Famille du Vourdalak”. This predates Bram Stoker‘s Dracula, it may have had some inspiration on the iconic vampire we do know Vlad The Impaler was the biggest.

The Vourdalak stars Kacey Mottet Klein as Marquis d’Urfé with Gabriel Pavie as Vlad. We are in 18th century when the kings emissary Marquis d’Urfé, (Klien) is attacked. He does find refuge in the home of the anomalous Vourdalak family.

This looks very creepy, visually stylish but expect nothing less from arthouse horror…

Lost in a hostile forest, the Marquis d’Urfé, a noble emissary of the King of , finds refuge in the home of a strange family…
