As the magical trailer showcases Eva Green as the Professor X as she helps to teach those odd kids that live under her roof to use and respect their powers. But like all ‘peculiarities’ they all awlays have a enemy wanting to bring them down…Que Samuel L.Jackson.
Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children is from visionary director Tim Burton, and based upon the best-selling novel, comes an unforgettable motion picture experience. When his beloved grandfather leaves Jake clues to a mystery that spans different worlds and times, he finds a magical place known as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. But the mystery and danger deepen as he gets to know the residents and learns about their special powers…and their powerful enemies. Ultimately, Jake discovers that only his own special “peculiarity” can save his new friends.
The aesthetic of this film is right down Burton’s alley but at times the film does reminds as at times his dreadfully awful Dark Shadows. If he can stay away from that film take inspiration from his pre-2000’s he will be on safe more successful grounds. Whilst the X-Men (I know I’m not the first to mention this feel to this, the monsters do look like they’ve crawled out of a Clive Barker novel ala Nightbreed. Some might see this as a negative if anything it could attract some cinephiles who may have ignored his filmography in the past! Burton has certainly captured the fun feel of the characters and this trailer does give you a first proper look at Samuel L.Jackson too. We have hope and this will be a ‘oddity’ and deliver a great entertaining film.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Chris O’Dowd, Ella Purnell, Allison Janney, Rupert Everett, Terence Stamp, with Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson and will arrive in UK cinemas 30th September (29th September in USA).
