Watch The Mesmerising UK Trailer For Night Of The Kings

There’s a wonderful world of films out there waiting to be embraced by many. If only those who stay in the comfort zone of superhero films and blockbuster cash cows, climb that one inch barrier of subtitles they might be surprised what they find. One of those films will be Philippe Lacôte‘s spellbinding Night Of  The Kings, Attitude Films today give you a taster of the film with it’s mesmerising UK Trailer.

The film was Ivory Coast’s Oscar entry and is executively produced by David Oyelowo. Seen as a fine example of African cinema, culture and the amazing folklore, mythology of the continent. It tells the story of a young man sent to an hellish infamous prison ruled by the inmates. Chosen to be the ‘Roman’ (storyteller) of the inmates to keep them entertained.

Spectacular, thrilling and absolutely unique, NIGHT OF THE KINGS is both an exhilarating tale of survival in one of the world’s most unforgiving environments and a beautiful ode to the power of storytelling.

When a young man (first-timer Koné Bakary) is sent to an infamous prison, located in the middle of the Ivorian forest and ruled by its inmates, he is chosen by the boss ‘Blackbeard’ (Steve Tientcheu, BAFTA and Academy-Award nominated LES MISÉRABLES) to take part in a storytelling ritual just as a violent battle for control bubbles to the surface. After discovering the grim fate that awaits him at the end of the night, Roman begins to narrate the mystical life of a legendary outlaw to make his story last until dawn and give himself any chance of survival.

The film stars Koné Bakary, Steve Tientcheu, Rasmané Ouédraogo, Issaka Sawadogo, Denis Lavant, and Digbeu Jean Cyrille. Night Of The Kings will be released in the UK and Irish Cinemas from 23rd July.
