Watch The Intense UK Trailer For Destroyer Starring Nicole Kidman

DESTROYER (2019)

Nicole Kidman stars as Erin Bell in Karyn Kusama's DESTROYER, an Annapurna Pictures release.

Even that near unrecognisable image of Nicole Kidman in Destroyer we’ve been so eager to see this. Last week we did and we’ll share our review closer to the release day. Today thanks to Lionsgate Films we can share with you the intense new UK Trailer.

Kidman plays FBI cop Erin Bell who finds herself on a moral and existential odyssey. When her past comes back to haunt her when her old nemesis (Tob Kebbell) resurfaces. Can she find redemption for those mistakes she made when she was a young rookie cop?

Karyn Kusama directed the festival indie hit (very underrated and underseen) The Invitation which took many of us by surprise. Destroyer looks like can deliver similar surprise but in a gritty neo-noir thriller rather than horror. The buzz for the film is for Kidman’s captivating performance and that’s good enough reason for me to see this one!

Director Karyn Kusama’s (The Invitation, Girlfight) Destroyer is a riveting and gritty crime thriller starring Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman (Lion, Big Little Lies, The Hours) in a virtuoso performance as a hardened detective worn down to the nub by the rigors of her job and the aftermath of an undercover FBI sting gone horribly wrong. Haunted by guilt and loss, when an old nemesis, played by Toby Kebbell (War for the Planet of the Apes, A Monster Calls) resurfaces, she becomes hell-bent on finding him, seeing it as her one last shot at redemption.

The film is produced by Fred Berger (La La Land, Operation Finale) and the tense, pulsating screenplay was written by writer/producers Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi (The Invitation, crazy/beautiful).

Destroyer will be in the UK and Irish cinemas from 25th January 2019.

The film also stars Sebastian Stan, Bradley Whitford, Jade Pettyjohn, and Scoot McNairy.
