Watch The Epic UK trailer For Brady Corbet’s The Brutalist

The Brutalist

Monumental is one description for Brady Corbet‘s The Brutalist from it’s Film Festival screenings. Today Universal Pictures release the epic UK Trailer showcasing why this might be one of the first must see films for 2025.

We’re not yet in the awards season and this film is already looking a big favourite. Especially it’s lead actor Adrien Brody, some critics going as far as calling it a ‘masterpiece’ that’s up there with The Godfather. Big, BIG words and we’re living in an era films that don’t have superheros around 2 hours or less running time are the max for many. This has a mammoth 3 hours 35 minutes running time and will test the patience of some, the buzz is rising.

What is The Brutalist all about? Set in Post war Europe, Adrien Brody as Hungarian architect László Toth. With his wife (played by Felicity Jones) both immigrate to America following the dream who would meet a man who would open doors for László. Creating a architectural style called brutalism that would shape buildings for many decades.

Will you ‘build’ and interest to go see this or ‘block’ it out?

Escaping post-war Europe, visionary architect László Toth arrives in America to rebuild his life, his work, and his marriage to his wife Erzsébet after being forced apart during wartime by shifting borders and regimes. On his own in a strange new country, László settles in Pennsylvania, where the wealthy and prominent industrialist Harrison Lee Van Buren recognizes his talent for building. But power and legacy come at a heavy cost…

The film also stars Joe Alwyn, Raffey Cassidy, Stacy Martin, Emma Laird,  Isaach De Bankolé, and Alessandro Nivola. The Brutalist will be released by Universal Pictures in the UK and Ireland from 24th January 2025 (In the U.S by A24 on 20th December).
