It’s a wicked thing this world. Focus Features have released the official U.S Trailer for creepy horror You Won’t Be Alone starring Noomi Rapace.

The film is the debut feature for Australian-Macedonian writer-director Goran Stolevski, a supernatural chiller that questions what is it like to be human? Is The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star a devil?

The plot describes the film as a tale of young girl who is kidnapped in 19th century Macedonia. Taken from her mother transformed into a witch who is left to roam feral. She has a curiosity for humanity and nature leading to a taste for flesh.

Once again Rapace shows her diverse range of roles she can easily fit into. At the moment she is starring in the creepy Iceland horror Lamb for MUBI, this one looks will make you skin crawl. This one is certainly a horror, but horror with a lot of emotion as the witch jumps from body to body. Experiencing humanity in different ages pretending to be human to learn or even mimic. Under The Skin, The VVitch are two films suggest the tone this film wants to go in…

In an isolated mountain village in 19th-century Macedonia, a young girl is taken from her mother and transformed into a witch by an ancient, shape-shifting spirit. Left to wander feral, the young witch beholds the natural world with curiosity and wonder. After inadvertently killing a villager and assuming her body, she continues to inhabit different people, living among the villagers for years, observing and mimicking their behaviour until the ancient spirit returns, bringing them full circle.

The film also stars Anamaria Marinca, Alice Englert, Carloto Cotta, Félix Maritaud, and Sara Klimoska. You Won’t Be Alone will make it’s world premiere at Sundance Film Festival, the above trailer is from Focus Features who are releasing the film Stateside on 1st April 2022. There is no word on the UK release, Focus in the UK is usually released by Universal Pictures.
