2025 seems to be a solid start for Apple TV+ with the return of many popular series such as Severance and Silo. The channel will be hoping Peter Craig‘s 8 part series will continue the streak, which has Ridley Scott onboard as executive producer and episode 1 director.
Dope Thief is based on Denis Tafoya‘s book of the same name. Following to friends based in Philadelphia who are small time criminals who decide to pretend to be Police (DEA) to rob a house. What they stumble into is a massive drugs ring set up in their area.
Based on Dennis Tafoya’s book “Dope Thief,” the series follows long-time Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern Seaboard.
The series also stars Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Dustin Nguyen, Amir Arison, and Ving Rhames. Dope Thief will launch globally on 14th March at Apple TV+ with the first 2 episodes.
