Watch First Trailer For DCEU Blue Beetle Mexico’s First Superhero

He’s A Superhero, Whether He Likes It Or Not. Warner Bros have unveiled the first UK Trailer for DC’s Blue Beetle and Xolo Maridueña stars as the young man now with a new alter ego.

They say calm before the storm, at DC it seems to be the storm hopefully before the calm. After the disappointment of Shazam! Fury Of The God’s Mexico’s first superhero to push DCEU on the right path. Will James Gunn and Peter Safran’s arrival at DC be that calmness they need?

Angel Manuel Soto directs the film with Maridueña as Mexican teenager Jaime Reyes. He discovers an ancient relic alien Blue Beetle scarab, with no clue exactly what it is. Before he could discover it’s purpose Jaime unexpectedly has superpowers forever changing his destiny.

Recent college grad Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero BLUE BEETLE.

The film also stars, Adriana Barraza  as Jaime’s grandmother, Nana. Damían Alcázar  as his father, Elpidia Carrillo as his mother, Bruna Marquezine  as Jenny Kord, Raoul Max Trujillo  as Carapax. Also with Susan Sarandon  as Victoria Kord, and George Lopez  as Jaime’s Uncle Rudy. The film also stars Belissa Escobedo  as Jaime’s sister, Milagro, and Harvey Guillén as Dr. Sanchez.

DC’s Blue Beetle will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 18th August.
