Love, fear, courage. The Factory have released the UK Trailer for true story LGBT drama Firebird. Friendship becomes forbidden love during Cold War era Soviet Union.

The film is directed by Peter Rebane and stars Tom Prior, Oleg Zagorodnii, and Diana Pozharskaya.

In this one we find ourselves at the height of the Cold War. A troubled soldier forms a forbidden love triangle with a daring fighter pilot and his female comrade amid the dangerous surroundings of a Soviet Air Force Base.

Our writer Georgia May watched the film at it’s BFI London Flare Festival calling the film ” a stunning celebration of real, forgotten love. Tragic and elegantly told“.

Firebird is a touching love story set in the Soviet Air Force during the Cold War. Sergey, a troubled young private, is counting the days till his military service ends. His life is turned upside down when daring fighter pilot Roman arrives at the base. Firebird will get an UK cinema release from 28th January 2022.
