The Watchmen TV Series Trailer Has ‘Army of Rorschachs’!

Watchmen (HBO 2019)

It’s one film we can easily say is one of our favourite Zack Snyder films (next to Dawn Of The Dead remake), The Watchmen. You could say the film is considered a ‘cult film’ by some, based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ classic graphic novel which is a ‘Cult comic book’.

If you’ve waited forever wondering if they would ever be a sequel, think again there is a Television show! HBO will bring us that series and today we get the first teaser trailer! Full of homages to the film, Army of Rorschachs and a big indication this will be a sequel to the film!

The Leftovers and Lost showrunner Damien Lindelof promised this would n’t be a reboot, or remake. A genuinely frightening vision of the future, one that’s post Dr.Manhattan. Ozymandias is still the villain and now ageing (played by Jeremy Irons), Rorschach’s mask has inspired a military style cult following. Silk Spectre’s yellow and black scheme seems to have been adopted by the police. The Pirate Flag seems to refer to the comic that was in the comic story of The Black Freighter.

There’s a lot going on here and a lot to be excited about too…

Set in an alternate history where “superheroes” are treated as outlaws, this drama series from executive producer Damon Lindelof embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own.

The cast includes: Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, s Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, and James Wolk.

The Watchmen is due to premiere in the Autumn. No clue on what channel in the UK will air the show, it’s an HBO show more likely to be Sky Atlantic.
