The Sandman Season 2 Casts Its Delirium, Destiny, The Prodigal

Netflix announced today casting for The Sandman season 2. The Endless family is now complete with Esmé Creed-Miles as Delirium, Adrian Lester as Destiny and Barry Sloane as The Prodigal.

We don’t know the details yet, what we can expect in the new season of The Sandman. Based on the beloved award-winning DC comic series written by Neil Gaiman, The Sandman  is a rich, character-driven blend of myth and dark fantasy woven together over the course of ten epic chapters following Dream’s many adventures.

In season one, The Sandman, aka Dream (Tom Sturridge) — the powerful cosmic being who controls all our dreams — is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for over a century, he must journey across different worlds and timelines to fix the chaos his absence has caused.

What we do know with the casting news, it looks like the new season might following the Season of Mists graphic novel. This book is considered one of the iconic stories of The Sandman franchise. In this story The Prodigal is also known as Destruction

These new names round out the Endless Family as they Tom Sturridge as Dream, Kirby as Death, Mason Alexander Park as Desire and Donna Preston as Despair who are returning from Season 1.

Additional Returning cast includes: Patton Oswalt, Vivienne Acheampong, Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Ferdinand Kingsley, Stephen Fry, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar , Vanesu Samunyai, and Razane Jammal.

Jamie Childs will direct all the new episodes for season 2 with Allan Heinberg as the showrunner. Heinberg also is on script duties as well as executive producer with David S. Goyer, and Neil Gaiman.

There is announced launched date for The Sandman Season 2. Originally this season was meant to launched last summer, things got delayed thanks to the acting strikes.
