The Joker Final Trailer Teases A Tragic Gritty Character Study

In just over 5 weeks time we all ‘smile and put a happy face on’ when The Joker arrives in Cinemas. Tonight Warner Bros Pictures has released a final UK Trailer which teases a tragic gritty character study is on the cards.
When the word that Warner Bros wanted a ‘Joker‘ origins film Batman fans got very excited. When it was announced it wouldn’t be set in the DC Universe or connected to previous Batman films concerns arose. Slowly news/gossip that our unhinged nemesis film was getting glowing praise from film festival directors. Venice Film Festival especially who have chosen the film to open this year’s festival this week.
Fans are now getting excited once again especially when talk of potential Award recognition.That will probably all down to Joaquin Phoenix who plays our soon to be Batman’s greatest arch-nemesis, Arthur Fleck. Setting the film in the 1970’s New York adds to the gritty story, Phillips chance to unearth his own Travis Bickle. A sociopathic man plagued by demons, abused, most of all the rise of an iconic villain…

Director Todd Phillips “Joker” centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone fictional story not seen before on the big screen. Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck, who is indelibly portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix, is of a man struggling to find his way in Gotham’s fractured society. A clown-for-hire by day, he aspires to be a stand-up comic at night…but finds the joke always seems to be on him. Caught in a cyclical existence between apathy and cruelty, Arthur makes one bad decision that brings about a chain reaction of escalating events in this gritty character study.
The film also stars Robert DeNiro, Zazie Beetz, s Conroy, Marc Maron, Bill Camp, Glenn Fleshler, Shea Whigham, Brett Cullen, Douglas Hodge and Josh Pais.
Joker will be released in the UK and Ireland from 4th October.
