Legends never dies especially ones in the Horror genre and next month Leatherface will be back. Netflix have released the full trailer for Texas Chainsaw Massacre and he’ll be bloodier than ever!
This apparently an sequel, promising to stripping back the layers to become an direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s original 1974 film. Which means like the recent Scream ‘requel’ some of the original characters will return with a host of new actors. Leatherface is a lot older and he’s ed by Sally Hardesty ready to hunt him down once again.
For this version, we head to Harlow, the small Texas town a group of young friends find themselves in. They do make a fatal mistake they accidentally disrupt a monster whose been in hiding for nearly 50 years, Leatherface ready to terrorize them.
With the return of Sally Hardesty (originally played by Marilyn Burns) returning suggests they are going for Halloween remake route ala Laurie Strode. With so many old school horror legends returning this does look a solid new entry which certainly terrorise all.
Melody (Sarah Yarkin), her teenage sister Lila (Elsie Fisher), and their friends Dante (Jacob Latimore) and Ruth (Nell Hudson), head to the remote town of Harlow, Texas to start an idealistic new business venture. But their dream soon turns into a waking nightmare when they accidentally disrupt the home of Leatherface, the deranged serial killer whose blood-soaked legacy continues to haunt the area’s residents — including Sally Hardesty (Olwen Fouéré), the sole survivor of his infamous 1973 massacre who’s hell-bent on seeking revenge.
The cast for this one includes Elsie Fisher, Sarah Yarkin, Mark Burnham, Moe Dunford, Olwen Fouéré, Alice Krige, Jacob Latimore, Nell Hudson, Jessica Allain, Sam Douglas, William Hope, and Jolyon Coy.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will be released on Netflix from 18th February.
