We’re very excited to see this Dystopian survival drama, The End We Start From. Signature Entertainment have amped our anticipation by releasing the full UK Trailer, which Jodie Comer flees the environmental apocalypse, is she also fleeing motherhood?

The film has played several festivals including Toronto and London with very good reviews. Many of those reviews pointing out Killing Eve star Comer’s performance, describing it as ‘magnetic’.

Based on Megan Hunter’s acclaimed 2017 novel, we follow a young family who live London, a city submerged in floods. Her child is a newborn, the novelty of being a mother are pushed to the top of the list for the mother. The dangers of the rising waters, force her to challenge her priorities.

We like that Mahalia Belo‘s film doesn’t use actual character names like they did in The Road. Comer‘s character seems to be referred as ‘woman’ which may see cinephiles relate to her struggles. The film has been nominated for 9 BIFA nominations including best lead performance. In desperate times it may ask should we be having children? Off course that is your choice, only yours!
