The Defenders To Potentially Return To The MCU?

As Daredevil has now found his way back into the MCU with cameos in both She-Hulk and Spider-Man: No Way Home and a new show in the form of Daredevil: Born Again, many have begun speculating whether the other of the Netflix’s The Defenders will soon follow suit.
In reports from Coming Soon and Entertainment Weekly, head of Marvel TV Brad Winderbaum has hinted at the possibility of Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage or Finn Jones’ Iron Fist all returning to the universe in some capacity for future projects.
Winderbraum didn’t give a clear answer but noted that the team at Marvel TV were excited to be able to play within the “sandbox” that the Netflix shows provide.
He also went on to mention that, “Obviously, we don’t have the unlimited storytelling resources like a comic book, [where] if you can draw it, you can do it. We’re dealing with actors and time and the massive scale of production in order to build a cinematic universe, especially on television. But I can just say that all those variables taken into , it is certainly something that is creatively extremely exciting and that we are very much exploring.”
The Defenders debuted on Netflix in 2017. The show saw the main characters from the streamer’s Marvel projects at the time come together to form a singular group. The series was set after Daredevil season two, and followed Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist as they thought the evil order known as the Hand.
At this current time it is unclear whether anyone from the other Netflix shows will appear anytime soon. However, some of the actors have voiced their interest in returning. Krysten Ritter stated in December that she was more than ready to step back into the role of Jessica Jones, even going as far to jokingly call Winderbraum out, “Come on, Brad! Let’s get it going. Let’s do it. I’ll be ready.”
