The Criterion Collection In February Will Be ‘Evocative’

February is only a couple of months away and we know that time of the year better staying in. February for The Criterion Collection will be ‘evocative’, traditions clash and idiosyncratic.

Things start on 3rd February with the release of Winchester ’73, the landmark western and first of the celebrated collaborations between director Anthony Mann and actor James Stewart. The movie broke new ground with its evocation of the West as a no-man’s-land of antiheroes and villains.

Following week on 10th February,Paul Thomas Anderson‘s Punch-Drunk Love  takes centre stage,
. This one starring Adam Sandler, Emily Watson and Philip Seymour Hoffman.  The film channels the spirit of classic Hollywood and the whimsy of Jacques Tati into an idiosyncratic ode to the delirium of new romance.

Finally on 24th February, Crossing Delancey, Joan Micklin Silver’s wonderfully affectionate spin on the romantic comedy is released. A love letter to 1980s Manhattan shot in beautifully burnished, autumnal tones, the film gracefully captures the magic of a city where disparate cultures, generations, and traditions both clash and connect.

All 3 films might already be available on standard Blu-ray, this time they have a 4K upgrade.
