The Chronicle Film Podcast

After a short break, The Chronicle Film Podcast, the official Podcast For The Peoples Movies returned last week. In Episode 031, myself and Clotilde Chinnici reviewed Richard Linklater‘s Hit Man (now on Netflix) and Pixar‘s Inside Out 2 in cinemas.

During this episode next to the reviews, Clotilde attended Cannes as well as Sundance London. Sharing her thoughts on those festivals and what films we should look out for this year. I also mentioned that the Podcast has moved podcasting host and it’s this I want to go into a little more detail.

Episodes 1 until 30 plus the extras The Chronicle was hosted by Spotify. It offered a simple and effective way to create the episodes, that way is about to stop. I took the weeks off to try pick the best podcasting host site, the option our previous host offered worked in too expensive. If anything double the price of the host I picked, Podbean.

I’m not someone who will always pick the cheapest option, as this is not always the best option. After carefully researching all my options Podbean worked out the best, it was cheaper than the offered option. It also offered the same things as the offered option, however it also means learning new techniques.

I won’t beat about the bush I am no expert at the technical side of podcasting, or what you call the ‘perfect host’. I have faults, so do we all, it’s about doing your best in what we have, learning them and doing your best. Compiling and editing episode 031 wasn’t the easiest , I got there in the end. But why Podbean?

Podbean offered a lot of options I never got at Spotify. Those little extra things that help push the Podcast upwards and beyond. It is also one of the hosting sites many podcasts are heading to or have found more success at especially in listeners and distribution. We may have only one episode so far of The Chronicle at the new host, for the current episode the viewership is UP. Thank you to you if you have listened to the episode! If not, this is the other reason I chose Podbean...It’s distribution.

At the previous host we had about 4-5 places, now The Chronicle you can find on Amazon Music, Castbox, Samsung, IHeartRadio, Podchaser, Listen Notes, Boom Play, Player FM, Apple Podcasts, Youtube Music, Youtube (via The Peoples Movies channel), Podbean and Spotify. There might be more, not forgetting directly here on The Peoples Movies.

The Chronicle Take 2 continues the chat after some new episodes, will be found on the above sites. Usually these extra episodes are just myself, reviewing an extra film or two in-between the new episodes. We might want to be a bit more regular and we might be on the look for a host. The Chronicle Extra I will be setting this one up over at Chronicles In Film. I will be going back to basics shorter, 1 film, Streaming/TV Show per episode or simply a rant.
