Sylvester Stallone’s Superhero Film Samaritan Unveils Images

Is it a bird? No! Is it a plane? No! It’s Sylvester Stallone and his dark superhero thriller Samaritan! Today Amazon has released the official Poster and images ahead of it’s premiere next month.

It’s been a long time since we have heard anything from this film. Like many new films Julius Avery’s (Overlord) superhero flick was caught up in the turmoil of Covid. Originally heading to cinemas, now heading to Prime Video exclusively.

Whilst we wait for the first Trailer, we get teased in the shape of a trio of images and Poster.

25 years ago, the world’s greatest hero vanished. It’s time to unmask the truth. That hero is Mr Smith (stallone) whose hidden identity revealed by his young neighbour. With their home town’s crime rate on the rise, could this young boy coax Mr Smith out to save everyone?

Stallone himself commented on the film “I love action films that also have heart. I wanted to be involved with Samaritan because this story has many layers that I think people can relate to. It’s something of a morality tale that is also very exciting to watch. We are thrilled that this will be seen globally on Prime Video where my fans and all audiences can enjoy it together around the world.”

Here’s the Official Synopsis
Thirteen-year-old Sam Cleary (Javon “Wanna” Walton) suspects that his mysterious and reclusive neighbour Mr. Smith (Sylvester Stallone) is actually a legend hiding in plain sight. Twenty years ago, Granite City’s super-powered vigilante, Samaritan, was reported dead after a fiery warehouse battle with his rival, Nemesis. Most believe Samaritan perished in the fire, but some in the city, like Sam, have hope that he is still alive. With crime on the rise and the city on the brink of chaos, Sam makes it his mission to coax his neighbour out of hiding to save the city from ruin.

The film also stars Javon “Wanna” Walton, Pilou Asbæk, Dascha Polanco, and Moises Arias.

Samaritan will premiere globally on Prime Video from 26th August.
