Sunday Short Theatre – Toomas Beneath the Valley of the Wild Wolves

A friend used to joke that during his stint unemployed, he used to joke he worked as a gigolo secretly. Most took this as a bit of a joke as this friend was a bit mysterious was difficult to know if he was being totally serious or joking. In this week’s Sunday Short Theatre, Toomas Beneath the Valley of the Wild Wolves pimping ain’t easy. But was it all about the gigolo?
This 18 minute animated short film comes from Estonian filmmaker Chintis Lundgren. Anyone familiar with his work may recognise the characters, as this is the prequel to Manivald. Fans of the crazy universe will enjoy seeing how Toomas was living before he was a gigolo. Married with children with another one on the way and he’s also working in corporate too. So what went wrong?
Expect comedy, also expect dark themes all set around one thing, in reality it’s all about acceptance between Toomas and his wife. It’s a love story with a big slice of naughtiness…
After losing a well paid engineering job, Toomas, a young hot wolf, gets cornered into working as a gigolo to his family. He is keeping it a secret from his pregnant wife Viivi. Viivi also has a secret: she is attending a female empowerment seminar involving male slaves. When Toomas gets a role in a sexploitation movie it becomes harder to keep his new profession a secret.
The short film stars the voice talents of Draško Ivezić, Leon Lučev, Lee Delong, Dražen Šivak, and Chintis Lundgren.
