Spider-Man 4 Gets An Official Title; Tom Holland Promises Fans “Fresh Start”

Three Spider-Man heroes ready for battle

CinemaCon is in full flow over in the US, and the first full day of treats has unveiled a new update for Spider-Man and Marvel fans with the official title for the fourth Spider-Man film announced (via Deadline).

Director Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi And The Legend of the Ten Rings for Marvel, is helming the fourth part and shared his excitement for the film, saying:

“Everyday right now, I’m exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of incredible artists of the world. How to swing, how to create an emotional story and a ride we haven’t seen before,” said Cretton.

“They tell me it’s tradition to tell you something about the film that no one knows. We do have a trailer, even though we didn’t share anything,” joked Cretton. He tossed it to Tom Holland on the screen.

“I am so sorry I can’t be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie. I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of No Way Home, so Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.” said Holland, thanking exhibitors. And it was Holland who told everyone the new title: Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Producers Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige will oversee the film again, with Zendaya also returning. Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has already been announced as the first new addition for the fourth film, but her character is being kept under wraps. Maguire and Garfield are not expected to return.

Holland was, of course, talking about the finale of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which grossed over $1.9billion worldwide in 2021. In the film, Peter Parker allowed Doctor Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) spell to have everyone forget he was the titular hero, in turn with everyone forgetting who he was. The film was made an even bigger success thanks to the appearances of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire as their iterations of the character, as well as Charlie Cox’s MCU debut as Matt Murdock.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens on July 31st, 2026.
