Sacrifice, new worlds and gripping World War II thrillers are some of the highlights coming our way in June all thanks to Signature Entertainment. Felix and the Hidden Treasure (Cert U, 85mins)

FELIX AND THE HIDDEN TREASURE is an adventurous and heart-warming story for all the family! Convinced that his father, who disappeared at sea two years ago, is still alive, 12-year-old Felix embarks on a search for him in the company of Old Tom, a retired fisherman; Squawk, a thieving one-legged parrot; and Rover, a cat who acts like a dog. Their journey takes them to Darkshadow Island, where a secret community inhabits an underground city, ruled by the megalomaniacal Morgäa, possessor of a priceless treasure. Directed by Nicola Lemay.

Edge of the World (Cert 15, 103mins)

The swash-buckling Edge of the World has the sweeping scope and feel of titles like Last of the Mohicans and The Revenant and the true story part inspired both The Man Who Would Be King and Apocalypse Now. Starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers (The Tudors) as Sir James Brook, the English adventurer who fought pirates and slavery to rule a kingdom as the King of Sarawak in the jungles of Borneo in 1840. His lifelong crusade to end head-hunting ultimately led him to face charges of murder and piracy himself. Also starring Lord of the Rings’ Dominic Monaghan and Game of Thrones’ Ralph Ineson and directed by first time feature filmmaker Michael Haussman.

Unearth (Cert 15, 94mins)

A small town falls prey to mother nature as big business rolls in and disturbs a killer pathogen that’s laid dormant beneath the ground for centuries. As the drilling starts the health of the community starts to fail and the land begins to rot. As time moves on, tensions rise but unbeknownst to the town, the rot that has infected their land is also killing them one by one. Prepare to unearth all out edge of your seat terror, as nature wages war on the human race with truly horrifying results.

Starring Adrienne Barbeau (The Fog, Creepshow) and Marc Blucas (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Unearth was written and directed by John C. Lyons.

Triumph (100mins)

Triumph is an uplifting story about overcoming one’s disability.

Based on a true story, this inspirational drama stars Academy Award™ nominee Terrence Howard (Hustle and Flow, Crash), RJ Mitte (Breaking Bad) and Colton Haynes (American Horror Story, Arrow). A bright and determined teen who has mild cerebral palsy strives to be a wrestler on his high school’s team and goes to humorous lengths to win over the heart of a classmate, the girl of his dreams.

Triumph was directed by Brett Leonard (Virtuosity, Hideaway) and written by Michael D. Coffey, whose personal story inspired the film.

Fight Club meets Black Mirror, Duplicate is an engaging and pacey physiological thriller starring Ansel Elgort, Patricia Clarkson, Matt Bomer and Suki Waterhouse

16 Blocks (Cert 12, 97mins)

They chose the worst man for the job. They expected him to fail, but he wasn’t about to let a witness be murdered on his watch. Personal demons put Jack (Bruce Willis, Die Hard), a New York City cop, at rock bottom. But when he’s assigned to escort a petty criminal to testify before the grand jury, a violent turn of events means this down-and-out cop needs to pull it together to save not only the life of the witness but his own as they are hunted across the city. The clock is ticking in this exhilarating race against time. Will justice be served or will there be two more bodies to add to the crime toll of the city?

The Final Stand (FKA The Last Frontier) Cert 15, 136mins

Escape Plan 2 (Cert 15, 92mins)
