Ruth Wilson, Cush Jumbo, Rosamund Pike In Talks Star In Greatest Days

Ruth Wilson, Cush Jumbo, and Rosamund Pike are all in negotiations to star in Greatest Days.

This will be the film adaptation of the hit stage musical The Band. Additionally, Sierra/Affinity will be handling the international sales of the film which is inspired by the music of Take That. Distributors will get a chance for first time at this year’s Virtual Cannes Film Market to win the film’s rights.

The film is directed by How To Build A Girl director Coky Giedroyc written by Tim Firth.

Inspired by the songs of Take That, one of the world’s biggest pop acts, Greatest Days is a feel-good universal story of love and friendship. Developed with the of Universal Music Group, the film focuses on five schoolgirls who have the night of their lives at a concert from their favorite boy band. 25 years later their lives have changed in a myriad of ways as they reunite to reminisce about their past and discover their future.

The group Take That added, “GREATEST DAYS is a film dedicated to all those who have ed us throughout the years. It puts a mirror on our audience – it’s a celebration of our music but it’s literally all about the fans and their friendships. Our fans have been on a 30-year journey with us and we have an incredibly strong bond with them, so seeing that they will be represented on screen by such a strong, talented cast is incredibly exciting.”

Jonathan Kier, President of Sierra/Affinity, said, “We are very excited to be reuniting with Danny and Kate, and looking forward to working with Coky and the incredible cast being assembled for this film. GREATEST DAYS is a captivating story featuring the iconic music of Take That that we know will transport and resonate with audiences around the world.”

Take That is one of the biggest boy bands of all time, having sold over 45 million records worldwide with 12 number 1 UK hits. Hit songs which will be featured in the film include “Patience,” “Back For Good,” “A Million Love Songs,” “Relight My Fire,” and “Could It Be Magic.” The group is in talks to pen an original song for the feel-good movie.

projects for Wilson include True Things About Me, directed by Harry Wootliff. This will be the first film made under Wilson’s production company LADY LAZARUS.For Jumbo, she will next be seen playing Hamlet at the Young Vic Theatre. Pike will next be seen in Amazon Studio’s television adaptation of Robert Jordan’s best-selling fantasy book series The Wheel of Time.

Danny Perkins and Kate Solomon will produce via their Elysian Film Group banner alongside Damian Jones and his DJ Films banner.Take That, David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers will executive produce the project.
