Vanquish (2021)

She’s got one night to save her life, to do that Ruby Rose must take care of ‘Business’ for Morgan Freeman in the UK Trailer for action thriller Vanquish.

Directed by George Gallo, Rose plays Victoria a mother with a dark past and caretaker of Damon Hickey (Freeman). A retired, crooked cop who always plays dirty, kidnaps Victoria’s daughter forcing her to take care of business for him. Will he give her back her daughter?

It’s been a long time since Ruby Rose since Netflix series Orange Is The New Black has ended. The actress has been forming herself into a fully fledged action star with likes of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, John Wick Chapter 2, The Doorman and more recently SAS: Red Notice. All films with mixed reviews, the latest looks production wise a step above the usual B movie action flicks. The test will be when the film is released will it be a better all round film?

In this dynamic action thriller, Damon Hickey (Morgan Freeman, Se7en) a retired police commissioner, who has been dirty his whole career, blackmails his caretaker Victoria (Ruby Rose, John Wick: Chapter 2) by kidnapping her daughter and forcing her into her old job — doing five very dangerous pick ups in one night. Crushed by the betrayal from the only man she ever trusted, Victoria fights her way through a sea of drug dealers and underworld thugs on a mission to save her daughter. As the night goes on, Victoria is confronted by her past and people who Damon has been protecting her from that all want her dead. Once she’s pushed to the very edge, she finds a kernel of redemption in Damon’s agenda. Vanquish is written and directed by George Gallo (Midnight Run, Bad Boys).

The film also stars Patrick Muldoon, Julie Lott, Ekaterina Baker, Nick Vallelonga, Joel Michaely, and Miles Doleac.

Signature Entertainment will release Vanquish on Digital Platforms in the UK and Ireland from 28th May.
