Paddington 2 First Trailer Is All Duffel Coats And Marmalade Sandwiches

The warmer (but sometimes wet) Summers are slowly creeping closer, but once you watch the first look trailer for Paddington 2 you’ll want to slip on a duffel coat and make yourself a Marmalade sandwich!
A Few years ago Paul King‘s Paddington surprised many critics and cinephiles or anyone who was full of scepticism. Ben Whishaw returns as the voice of our lovable Children’s classic character and in the first UK trailer from Studiocanal the fun will continue. An adventure which sees the disappearance of a pop-up book for his Aunt’s 100th Birthday, will he find the book?
The much-anticipated sequel to the worldwide hit family film finds Paddington happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, where he has become a popular member of the community, spreading joy and marmalade wherever he goes. While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s hundredth birthday, Paddington spots a unique pop-up book in Mr Gruber’s antique shop and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief…
The trailer may only run at just under 60 seconds and whilst it welcomes our titular hero back from the Darkest parts of Peru, we also meet some of the new characters. Hugh Grant’s Phoenix Buchanan who looks like he’ll be the ‘villain’ of the movie, Brendan Gleeson ‘Knuckles McGinty’ gets a platform too. The anticipated sequel does show off the director’s nice blend of humanity with eccentricity just gives this a warmth glow. The Summer may not have kicked off fully, but things haven’t been great, a movie like this might just re-ignite our faith that cinema can provide something exciting.
Paddington 2 is set for a 10th November UK& Irish cinema release (USA January 2018). Co-starring Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin with Imelda Staunton as the voice of Aunt Lucy.
