New The Hunger Games Posters: Meet The Characters!

A good friend said to me once “how can you get excited about a film when you’ve never read the books?” its called buzz, the buzz along with word from people who have read it can get you excited and its The Hunger Games Im referring too. Ive never read Suzanne Collins books but as the stories are set in a post apocalyptic background that usually does it for me and ill be honest I don’t actually know anything about the books but how many films that have come and gone based on books could honestly say everyone who watched the film already checked out the book? Probably very few, just the fans of the book if I like it Ill check out the book.

Lionsgate UK have sent us these brand new fantastic character posters for The Hunger Games for Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and introducing Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Cinna (Lenny Kravitz), Haymitch (Woody Harrelson), Effie (Elizabeth Banks), Cato (Alexander Ludwig), and Rue (Amandla Stenberg).I’m also looking forward to seeing Donald Sutherland playing the sadistic evil President Snow whom I believe is the man behind the games, but what district will you follow? Who will your favourite character be?

With November knocking on our doors and the film release March 23rd, hopefully before the year is out we’ll have some footage hopefully in the shape of a full feature trailer!

In a not-too-distant future, the United States of America has collapsed, weakened by drought, fire, famine, and war, to be replaced by Panem, a country divided into the Capitol and 12 districts. Each year, two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, part brutal intimidation of the subjugated districts, the televised games are broadcasted throughout Panem as the 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors, literally, with all citizens required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss’ young sister, Prim, is selected as the mining district’s female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She and her male counterpart, Peeta, the son of the town baker who seems to have all the fighting skills of a lump of bread dough, will be pitted against bigger, stronger representatives who have trained for this their whole lives.
