Netflix Greenlight The Peaky Blinders Film Starring Cillian Murphy

Fans of the popular BBC series have been dreaming this for a long time and today Netflix greenlight the Peaky Blinders feature film!
Oscar winning Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer) still has some unfinished business as Tommy Shelby, the role he played over six seasons between 2013 and 2022. As for other cast returning or ing this film, details still to be revealed. On the production side of things, show creator Steven Knight will be onboard scripting and co-producing with Cillian Murphy, Caryn Mandabach, and Guy Heeley all fo BBC Film.
Tom Harper, who directed episodes in the first season in 2013, returns to helm the film.
Peaky Blinders film is set to go into production later this year. The epic continuation of the multi-award-winning gangster saga, set in the lawless streets of Birmingham in the 1900s.
Cillian Murphy commented on the news : “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me…It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”

Director Tom Harper said: “When I first directed Peaky Blinders over 10 years ago, we didn’t know what the series would become, but we did know that there was something in the alchemy of the cast and the writing that felt explosive. Peaky has always been a story about family – and so it’s incredibly exciting to be reuniting with Steve and Cillian to bring the movie to audiences across the world on Netflix.”
The plot and further casting remain tightly under wraps.
