LIFF 2011: Day 13 Video Highlights From BFI 55Th London Film Film Festival

How time flys when your having fun only a few days left before The 55th BFI London Film Festival to go but here’s still some fantastic films to showcase and its the time of the night when BFI release their daily vodcast showcasing the days highlights. On Day 13 of the BFI London Film Festival, David Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method had its UK premiere, attended by stars Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender, Keira Knightley and Cronenberg himself. The film was part of the Film on The Square programme and the video highlist show the best moments from the Red Carpet with brief chats with the stars about the film which will be released on February 10th 2012 in UK&Ireland.

In the early 1900s, Carl Jung, an up-and-coming doctor at a Swiss clinic, decides to experiment on a young Russian patient, Sabina Spielrein, using Sigmund Freud’s controversial new method. Spielrein arrives at the clinic a deeply disturbed woman, though clearly intelligent and herself interested in pursuing a career as an analyst. Jung’s treatment of Spielrein, and the affair that this leads to, takes place alongside the development of his intense relationship with Freud, who sees Jung very much as his disciple and heir to the throne. As Jung wrestles with his own impulses and his growing desire to distance himself from Freud the father figure, a personal and ideological split seems inevitable.(bfi website)
