Kathryn Newton Reteams With Radio Silence For Ready Or Not 2
With work already underway on the anticipated sequel to 2019’s brilliant horror-comedy Ready Or Not, casting has begun in earnest, with Kathryn Newton ing the cast, reports Deadline.
Ready Or Not 2 will see Newton re-teaming with Radio Silence – filmmakers Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett – after she starred in last year’s horror Abigail, alongside Alisha Weir, Dan Stevens and Melissa Barrera. Guy Busick (who co-wrote Abigail) and R. Christopher Murphy are also back on scripting duties for the sequel, along with star Samara Weaving, who will reprise her role as Grace,
The first film followed a young bride, Grace (Weaving) as she ed her new husband’s (Mark O’Brien) rich, eccentric family (Adam Brody, Henry Czerny, Andie MacDowell) in a time-honored tradition that turned into a lethal game with everyone fighting for their survival. The film grossed over $57million worldwide from its $6million budget, as well as being a big hit on home formats and Disney+.
Newton had a busy couple of years: as well as Abigail, she starred in Diablo Cody’s Lisa Frankenstein, as well as playing Cassie Lang in Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, with rumours abound that she will reprise the role either in the new Avengers films or a long-mooted Young Avengers spin-off. She’ll next be seen in DreamQuil, opposite John C. Reilly and Elizabeth Banks.
No word on a release date for Ready Or Not 2 just yet.
