Jessica Rothe Confirms Happy Death Day 3 Is Moving Ahead

According to a report from Blood Disgusting, it was confirmed at the American Cinematheque that Happy Death Day 3 is moving ahead. This was announced by Jessica Rothe, star of the horror-comedy series, whilst on stage at a double feature screening of the first two movies.
Rothe declared “the third movie is moving forward,” with series director Christopher Landon by her side. Landon later confirmed the statement by adding “It is moving forward.”
Landon revealed in 2020 that the working title for the third movie was Happy Death Day to Us and that it was “different than the other two films.” The last instalment in the series, Happy Death Day 2U, was released six years ago, giving fans enough time to speculate when the franchise might return.
It was also recently announced that Universal and Blumhouse considered doing the third instalment as a three-part miniseries for Peacock, which didn’t materialise. This reveal from Rothe confirms that the third movie is going ahead, but this is all that is known at this time.
In 2020, during a conversation with Coming Soon, Rothe said, “I would love if we had the opportunity to complete the trilogy. I know that Chris has it all mapped out in his genius brain, but I also know that we only want to complete it if we get to do it right. I think it’s just a question of seeing if the opportunity for that exists in the world.”
