In The Lodge Trailer ‘You’re Not Welcome Here’

Every year the festival circuit unearths horrors which label themselves, ‘The Next Big Thing’.  The latest film attempting to grasp that crown is The Lodge and we have a trailer.

Goodnight Mommy blending arthouse with horror, delivering a filmic experience. Will their English feature debut become another ‘sleeper horror hit’?

This one stars Riley Keough as Grace a young woman about to marry and become a step mum to two kids. Who slowly coming to accept her, until his demons from the past are unearthed and threaten everyone.

This could easily be one of those films the more you know about it the more chance of things getting spoiled. There could be a Shining type twist to this one especially as there in a blizzard. A family drama, past trauma, religious cults, tense, bizarre things happen.

This like the above mentioned horrors seems to be one for hardcore horror fans. Though the early reviews have been very good, however it also seems a film with a slow build up that may scare off some. Sign me up!

Devoted to their devastated mother, siblings Aidan and Mia resent Grace, the younger woman their newly separated father plans to marry. They flatly reject Grace’s attempts to bond, and they dig up dirt on her tragic past—but soon they find themselves trapped with her, snowed in in a remote holiday village after their dad heads back to the city for work. Just as relations begin to thaw, strange and frightening events threaten to unearth psychological demons from Grace’s strictly religious childhood.

The Lodge doesn’t seem to have a release date (possibly a distributor) for the UK. The film is getting a Autumn release stateside, so good chance this one may not appear here until 2020.

The film also stars Richard Armitage, Jaeden Lieberher, Lia McHugh, Alicia Silverstone, Katelyn Wells, Lola Reid.
