In Ad Astra First Trailer Brad Pitt Seeks Answers In Space

AD ASTRA (2019)

If your looking for a visually deep filled story James Gray is one of the best film directors to choose. After The Lost City Of Z, he’s now heading into space with Ad Astra today we have the first Trailer.

Starring Brad Pitt and he’s on an odyssey to find his Daddy (played by Tommy Lee Jones). Playing astronaut Roy McBride whose sent to the outer reaches of the Solar system. To find the spaceship his father was piloting nearly 2 decades before which potentially has something in it that could threaten our planet.

The film does look like it shares some elements of Interstellar even Gravity. Not just in parts of the story line but the film’s visual aesthetic. The film was actually made in 2017, with Disney’s recent acquisition of 20th Century Fox things got delayed. There also seemed to be other reasons too, with reports Gray was still working on the visual effects last month.

I’ve always been a fan of Gray’s visual style, but for some strange reason not so much his films. Some regard his last film Lost City Of Z to an highly underrated film, personally overly too long. Ad Astra looks to be his most commercial film to date, maybe things could change when this one is released.

Astronaut Roy McBride (Brad Pitt) travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father (Tommy Lee Jones) and to unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet. His journey will uncover secrets that challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos.

The film co-stars Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, James Gray, Rodrigo Teixeira, Anthony Katagas.

Start Your own Odyssey when Ad Astra docks in UK and and Irish Cinemas from 18th September (20th September in the USA).
