Impressive UK Trailer For Ang Lee’s Life Of Pi

I’ll be honest until last month when we posted the first footage and beautiful banners I didn’t really know much about Ang Lee’s film, today the first trailer for Life Of Pi has arrived and it’s impressive.Based on a award winning novel by Yann Martel Life Of Pi tells the story of Pi (Suraj Sharma) a 16 year old boy who was immigrating to America with his zookeeper parents only to find the cargo ship their sailing in is wrecked to find himself floating in a lifeboat with only a hyena, zebra, orang-utan and tiger for company.
CGI is the name of the game here, and despite reservations of films using alot of generated imagery, but in Life Of Pi it does look visually stunning and proper use of CGI. To highlight how import the visuals are there’s no dialogue at all and with this been an fantasy visuals are even more important. I’m going to say nothing on the on 3D I’m not a fan of the ‘gimmick’ until I actually see the film in 3D, however with that awesome looking boat sinking scene might even have Mr 3D everything James Cameron might even be jealous of what we see here.
Courage, discovery shine through here for the story with a big dash of the weird narrative fun make this look a potential Christmas treat when Life Of Pi is released in UK&Ireland December 21st. The film stars Tobey Maguire, Irrfan Khan, Adil Hussain, and Gerard Depardieu
*July 26th – Many thanks for Twentieth Century Fox for sending us the UK version of the trailer*
