Hurry Up Tomorrow Trailer: The Weeknd, Jenna Ortega And Barry Keoghan Go On Cinematic Odyssey

Jenna Ortega and The Weeknd star in the new film

After releasing his new album of the same name last month, The Weeknd stars in the first trailer for Hurry Up Tomorrow, a new thriller set in the music world from acclaimed filmmaker Trey Edward Schults – and you can watch it below!

The anticipated big-screen debut sees Abel Tesfaye, better known by his stage name The Weeknd, star “as a musician haunted by sleeplessness.” Jenna Ortega (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) and Barry Keoghan (Bird) co-star in the film with Schults scripting with Tesfaye and Reza Fahim. Live Nation Entertainment have funded the film with a $20million budget.

Schults is a filmmaker who has become one of Hollywood’s most underrated filmmakers: in 2019, he wrote and directed Waves which followed his previous film, It Comes At Night, which debuted in 2017. His debut in 2015 was the acclaimed Krisha, which won both the Grand Jury Award and Audience Award in the narrative feature competition at the 2015  SXSW Film Festival.

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

A musician plagued by insomnia is pulled into an odyssey with a stranger who begins to unravel the very core of his existence.

Both Ortega and Keoghan both have busy schedules too: Ortega has the second season of Wednesday on the horizon, as well as Death of a Unicorn alongside Paul Rudd and Klara And The Sun, co-starring with Amy Adams. Keoghan, meanwhile, is busy in preparation for his role as Ringo Starr in Sam Mendes’ Beatles films (all four of them) and will soon be seen in The Immortal Man, the first Peaky Blinders feature film.

Hurry Up Tomorrow hits US cinemas on May 16th.
