Horror Channel To ‘Open The Door To Horror’ This August

Despite the rain, we can’t argue about the steamy weather has been great but in August your heart will get cold at The Horror Channel. To celebrate FrightFest 2018, taking place in London during the August Bank Holiday, Horror Channel is dedicating thirteen nights to past festival hits.
Twenty-six fear-filled favourites from the world’s best genre film fest. That includes four UK TV premieres with Simeon Halligan’s ‘terror-torial’ home invasion shocker White Settlers starring The Walking Dead‘s Pollyanna MacIntosh; You’ll never look at your bed in the same way after you watch Jeff Maher‘s Bed Of The Dead. After the ghoulish orgy of sex and gore, Chad Archibald’s breath-choking supernatural thriller The Drownsman will have you gasping for breath. ‘Freddies not dead’ he’s starring in the hauntingly sinister Nightworld, directed by Patricio Valladares.
The Horror channel is broadcasting three network premieres with Alberto Marini’s sly and witty scaremonger Summer Camp, Bernard Rose’s Frankenstein, a stylishly smart update of the classic myth, starring Xavier Samuel, Danny Huston, Carrie-Anne Moss and Tony Todd. FrightFest Halloweener Rupture sees the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace in a surreally spooky sci-fi horror from Steven Shainberg (Secretary).
The FrightFest Crowdpleasers don’t just end there. From 9 pm every night from the 17th until 29th August there will be some classic double bills. First up will be blood-soaked ‘80s homage Turbo Kid, Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer’s stunning contemporary occult tale of Hollywood ambition, Starry Eyes, will make you think twice about quick stardom. We love anthologies and the terrifying V/H/S is one of the best, which pushes the genre in a fresh direction. Lowell Dean’s rage-fuelled fun Wolf Cop will have you ‘howling’.Don’t be a ‘dummy’ and miss Franck Khalfoun’s superior psychological horror Maniac starring Elijah Wood. Paul Hyett’s hairy horror and bloody action adventure Howl will make a journey on Southern Rail look like heaven.
