Tee time has officially been confirmed — Adam Sandler Picks up the golf clubs once again in long awaited sequel to his cult favourite

Grip it and rip it! Adam Sandler is returning for Happy Gilmore 2 this Summer. Today Netflix have released the first Trailer will Happy resurrect his golfing career?

Also returning from the original film is Julie Bowen returns as Virginia Venit, and Christopher McDonald is reprising his role as Shooter McGavin.

Happy Gilmore 2 doesn’t have an official synopsis at the moment. I think we can all agree whatever the plot, it will be ‘happy chaos’. Expect a bitter rivalry, or some sort of trouble in and around the golf course.

As followers of the site for a long time will know I am no fan of Mr Sandler. I appreciate many do like him and this looks more positive than his other films. Fans of the original film should it been 29 year wait for this sequel?

It’s been almost 30 years since we last saw Happy Gilmore, the long-driving hero who won in the Tour Championship in 1996. Now, we finally get to catch up with him in this sequel. That’s right, Adam Sandler is returning to the golf green as Happy Gilmore, and he’s bringing along a few new and familiar faces.

The cast is massive for this one with a mix of old and new cast. Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio aka Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley, Ben Stiller, Benny Safdie, Travis Kelce, Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Nick Swardson. Adam Sandler’s daughters Sadie and Sunny also co-star making the film a true family event.

Happy Gilmore 2 will launch globally on Netflix on 25th July which happens to be my birthday, I won’t be watching.
