Vesuvius Erupts In New UK Trailer For Paul WS Anderson’s Pompeii

If there’s one director willing reenact one of earth’s greatest tragedies with a twist Paul W.S Anderson is probably your man though how good it is, that’s a debate for another day, Today The Gladiators rise from the ashes of Vesuvius as the UK trailer for Pompeii erupts online.

Starring Kit Harrington (Game Of Thrones) as an enslaved gladiator Milo Pompeii is set on the eve of Mount Vesuvius great ever eruption 24th August 79 A.D who must save his true love his master’s daughter Cassia (Emily Browning) but danger  awaits not just from Volcano but from Senator (kiefer Sutherland)who killed his parents and believes social order must be maintained.

If we go by the directors recent films Pompeii is set up to be a critical disaster which is a bit harsh, visually this looks not bad, it’s got a script written by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellows so not that bad is it? Pompeii is a throwback to those big melodramatic films that are big in action lacking in intelligence full on entertaintainment . 2014 is the year of men in skirts with 300: Rise of An Empire, 2 Hercules films and Pompeii. After spending couple of years of my life  living in the shadow of Vesuvius living in near by Sorrento taking tourists up and down volcano it’s great to see her in her full glory just don’t annoy her!

Synopsis
