Get ready to sweat, warm up is over Sheila Rubin is returning next month with Season 2 of dark comedy Physical. Apple TV+ have sent us over the new season’s Official Trailer and Rose Byrne has a battle on her hands!

In the second season, our hero Sheila Rubin (Byrne) has successfully launched her first fitness video only to encounter some new and bigger obstacles in her path. She is torn between loyalty to her husband (Scovel) and the values he represents, and a dangerous attraction to someone else. And since she’s no longer the only game in town, she finds herself having to outrun some fierce new competitors on the road to building a full-fledged fitness empire.

This new season looks to showcase Sheila’s growth, the fun but also the jealously. Battle on and off the gym and dark humour looks on ball too.

Set in the idyllic but fragile beach paradise of sunny 1980s San Diego, “Physical” is a half-hour dark comedy following Sheila Rubin, a quietly tortured, seemingly dutiful housewife ing her smart but controversial husband’s bid for state assembly. But behind closed doors, Sheila has her own darkly funny take on life she rarely lets the world see. She’s also battling a complex set of personal demons relating to her self-image… that is, until she finds release through the unlikeliest source: the world of aerobics.

At first hooked on the exercise itself, Sheila’s real road to empowerment comes when she discovers a way to merge this newfound ion with the burgeoning technology of videotape to start a revolutionary business. The series tracks her epic journey from a stifled, overlooked enabler to a powerful, confident economic force, as Sheila transforms into someone we take for granted today (but was entirely radical at the time) — the female lifestyle guru.

The returning cast will include Rory Scovel, Dierdre Friel, Della Saba, Lou Taylor Pucci, and Paul Sparks with new addition coming in the shape of Murray Bartlett.

Physical Season 2 will premiere globally from 3rd June.
