Gerard Butler Inspires In Trailer For Chasing Mavericks

In stressful times a little bit of inspiration to achieve something no matter how trivial it is to others can be uplifting when it’s to conquer a monster wave in surfing Gerard Butler is your man as he inspires in the trailer for Chasing Mavericks. What’s more a shock to myself is a Paisley man like Butler on a surf board , as been also from Paisley (and at school with the actor) you would be shocked too as we’re 12 miles from the seas and several hours from surfing spots as well as our home town only inspires locals to travel to Glasgow on train.
Chasing Mavericks is a biopic story about Jay Moriarty a young talented surfer (played by Jonny Weston) who conquers a mythical giant wave off Californian coastline under the guidance of veteran surfer Rick “Frosty” Hesson (Butler). As history dictates he tries and conquers at the age of 16years but nearly 7 years later day before his 23rd birthday Jay is tragically killed in a diving accident in Maldives.
The film unfortunately follows the similar patterns of many true to life stories, reluctant trainer (Butler) who eventually spots talent in Jay, potentially solid drama which Curtis Hanson has provided before but its the same old question how generic do you like these films to be? able film which you’ll probably forget about by the time you leave the cinema, If your a Butler fan stick to Machine Gun Preacher a lot more entertaining. Chasing Mavericks also stars Leven Rambin, Elisabeth Shue and Abigail Spencer with the film arriving November 2nd in UK&Ireland.
CHASING MAVERICKS is the inspirational true story of real life surfing phenom Jay Moriarity (played by newcomer Jonny Weston). When 15 year old Jay discovers that the mythic Mavericks surf break, one of the biggest waves on Earth, is not only real, but exists just miles from his Santa Cruz home, he enlists the help of local legend Frosty Hesson (played by Gerard Butler) to train him to survive it. As Jay and Frosty embark on their quest to accomplish the impossible, they form a unique friendship that transforms both their lives, and their quest to tame Mavericks becomes about far more than surfing. Chasing Mavericks was made with the help of some of the biggest names in the surfing world, and features some of the most mind-blowing real wave footage ever captured on film.
