Geeked Week 2024 - Netflix Tease Squid Game 2, One Piece...

Yesterday 2024 edition of Netflix’s fandom fest Geeked Week ended in Atlanta, Georgia USA. Last night, Netflix unveiled new clips, casting announcements, teaser posters and first look images for some of their top titles during the fan event.

Updates on Squid Game Season 2, One Piece live action Season 2, as well as The Last Airbender, Stranger Things Season 5, Arcane Season 2 and Wednesday Season 2.

SQUID GAME SEASON 2 26TH DECEMBER

Are you ready for the next round? The game never ends and in December will you be ready to play?

Netflix has officially revealed a special teaser poster and trailer for the highly anticipated Squid Game Season 2, set to premiere on December 26. Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.

Release Date: Squid Game Season 2 premieres exclusively on Netflix on 26th December, continuing the global phenomenon that left fans on the edge of their seats.

The cast includes Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-joon, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Noh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, Won Ji-an and Gong Yoo.

Just going by the cast size and what we see in the first teaser trailer things are getting bigger! Are we excited? Hell yeah!

Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger.

Additional cast to be announced at a later date. Season two is currently in production in Cape Town, South Africa.

Earlier in the week, the series also debuted a Season Two set tour led by Jeff Ward, who plays the fan-favourite villain Buggy.

THE LAST AIRBENDER SEASON 2 COMING SOON
The start of production of Season 2 for Avatar: The Last Airbender and Revealed Miya Cech Will Portray Fan-Favourite ‘Toph‘.

Cech is already training for the role of Toph. “I’ve been in boot camp for about a week and a half now and still have a lot of work to do, but it’s super fun. I have some martial arts experience. I have a great instructor who I take private classes with back home in Northern California, and he keeps me in shape when I’m not working. I also have some dance experience from when I was younger that has been very helpful as I learn about Toph’s movements.” Cech is also working with a producer and consultant who is blind and a professional from the blindness community, to make sure the blindness community is represented appropriately.

For Cech, playing Toph is a chance to honour her heritage. “I personally am of Chinese and Japanese American descent and I’m so excited to represent my Chinese heritage in Toph Beifong,” she says. “One of the most incredible aspects of this show is the diversity of the Asian cultures in the ATLA world. Even though the universe is fantasy, it feels like every culture is represented in some way and tied to the history and traditions of that culture or country. Just a few years ago, you might have seen one or two of these actors in a show or movie, but on this show we are all able to represent this world together and work together and collaborate. It’s really amazing and a gift as an actor.”
