Everyone has a right to call a place home and a place to belong. The Last Black Man In San Francisco is the story of one trying to find his home in his ever changing home city before it leaves him behind.

Universal Pictures have released the film’s UK Trailer and accompanying Poster. Directed by first time director, Joe Talbot who film comes with many plaudits. Which have been abound since it’s world Premiere at Sundance Film Festival.

If you enjoyed films such as Sorry To Bother You and Blindspotting, this one will be a treat for you. Like the aforementioned films, ones with important topics which are just as resonant here in the UK as in the USA. The gentrification of San Francisco as rented homes become a rarity to transform into expensive private housing. It’s also the decaying nature of forgotten people stuck in the rut.

The film has lush cinematography, most of all a touching gorgeous story…

Jimmie Fails dreams of reclaiming the Victorian home his grandfather built in the heart of San Francisco.

ed on his quest by his best friend Mont, Jimmie searches for belonging in a rapidly changing city that seems to have left them behind. As he struggles to reconnect with his family and reconstruct the community he longs for, his hopes blind him to the reality of his situation.

A wistful odyssey populated by skaters, squatters, street preachers, playwrights, and the other locals on the margins, The Last Black Man in San Francisco is a poignant and sweeping story of friendship, community, and the true meaning of home. Joe Talbot’s directorial debut is a deep and resonant meditation on the stories we tell ourselves to find our place in the world.

The stars Jimmie Fails, Jonathan Majors, Danny Glover, Tichina Arnold, Rob Morgan, Mike Epps and Finn Wittrock.

The Last Black Man In San Francisco will make it’s UK Premiere on 4th October at BFI London Film Festival. The film will make it’s UK cinema release on 25th October.
