Farah Nabulsi’s The Teacher Starring Imogen Poots Gets UK Trailer

The UK Trailer for Oscar nominated for Palestinian British filmmaker Farah Nabulsi‘s The Teacher has been released.
The powerful suspense drama film made it’s world premiere just less than a year ago at Toronto Film Festival. It travelled the film festival circuit including Glasgow Film Festival, picking up great reviews and awards.
The Teacher stars Imogen Poots and was filmed Palestine. Bakri is a struggling school teacher who is grappling to balance his position of being a father figure to his students. At the same time attempting to reconcile his political stance in a occupied land. He also gets a chance to form an relationship with a volunteer (Poots).
The film marks Nabulsi‘s directorial feature and with tensions in Middle East makes this drama an emotional watch. Nabulsi stated she wanted to take viewers on “an intense, emotional journey into the lives and experiences of those living in occupied and colonised Palestine, and lift the curtain on the hardships and difficult choices they have to make“.
A Palestinian school teacher struggles to reconcile his risky commitment to political resistance with his emotional for one of his students and the chance of a new relationship with a volunteer worker.
The film also stars Muhammad Abed El Rahman, Stanley Townsend, Paul Herzberg, Mahmoud Bakri and Andrea Irvine. The Teacher will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 27th September.
