Emma Stone Is ‘Bittersweet’ In New UK La La Land Trailer

Tuesday here at The Peoples Movies is unusually quiet but those good folks at Lionsgate Films have answered our calls to cheer us with a new La La Land UK Trailer. It’s been a few years since Damien Chazelle made a name for himself with Whiplash now for his latest film he’s all song and dance. Last month the first trailer was all that jazz about Ryan Gosling, now the focus is on Emma Stone who is ‘Bittersweet’ thanks to the song ‘Audition’.

La La Land see Chazelle head back to the world, this time not in pursuit of musical success but one that plays ode to the golden age of Hollywood musicals.

La La Land tells the story of Mia [Emma Stone], an aspiring actress, and Sebastian [Ryan Gosling], a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.

The trailer is very similar style and tone as as the first one. What makes this film even more intriguing is that it’s not based on no broadway show either with Kenny Ortega’s Newsies (starring a young Christian Bale).It’s easy to say  the third thing going for this film is the exciting chemistry between it’s leading actors. Gosling and Stone know each other inside out after appearing together in several films, making their love interest very real.

Once again Chazelle looks to have created another anticipated film potentially a Oscar contender proving he’s going to be more than a one hit wonder.

La La Land is set for 13th January 2017 UK release (USA 16th December). The film co-stars John Legend, Rosemarie DeWitt, Finn Wittrock, Callie Hernandez, Sonoya Mizuno, Jessica Rothe, Tom Everett Scott and Josh Pence.
