Eddie Redmayne  looks like he’ll be making a habit of playing pioneers from Steven Hawkins now Transgender pioneer, In The Danish Girl. Ahead of it’s Toronto Premiere we get our first look at UK trailer and find the courage to be yourself…

Could Tom Hooper‘s film be a creature of habit for it’s leading actor leading to Oscar Glory? The big films are coming out to play as the focus is moving to the award contenders and The Danish Girl is looking good to deliver Oscar glory, possibly more awareness of gender equality?

Based on the book by David Ebershoff, The Danish Girl is the remarkable love story inspired by the lives of Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener (portrayed by Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne [The Theory of Everything] and Alicia Vikander [Ex Machina]), and directed by Academy Award winner Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech, Les Misérables). Lili and Gerda’s marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili’s groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer.

I wasn’t the greatest fan of The Theory of Everything, though Redmayne was the only good thing about the film. Going by what we see in this trailer, it looks a moving, captivating performance that will pull on the heart strings, the type of film the Oscar committee will adore. Best film, best actor, best whatever I’ll be shocked if this doesn’t win something in February.

The Danish Girl will arrive in UK&Ireland on 1st January  2016, with U.S release a bit closer on 27th November. Co-starring Ben Whishaw, Sebastian Koch, Amber Heard, and Matthias Schoenaerts.
