On Sunday, 29th April during the penultimate episode of Homeland on Channel 4, the World exclusive of Ridley Scott’s new Prometheus trailer will air in the first ad break, followed by viewers Twitter responses.

The trailer will be broadcast at around 9.10pm after which viewers will be invited to interact with this exclusive reveal by sharing their thoughts via Twitter using the hashtag #areyouseeingthis. During the second ad break these responses will be aired live on screen for all Homeland viewers to see.

Prometheus, starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, will be released in cinemas across the UK and Ireland on June 1st

Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

In other Prometheus news, with money ruling the roost when it comes to what certificate a film may get, it’s becoming more rarer to see a film gain a 18 certificate even 15 rated films are been cut to gain a 12A.With the footage from the Prometheus  trailers suggesting that a 18 rating (R in USA) could be a possibility (or a 15 rating at least) are Fox waving bye bye to potential profits ?

In a post at Collider Fox CEO Tom Rothman says the version that Ridley Scott will submit will be one that meets the censors criteria not what Fox wants.

I can assure the fans absolutely they can take it that the film will not be compromised either way. So if that means that the film is R, then it’ll be an R.  If it’s PG-13, then it’ll be a PG-13. But it will not be compromised.

Ridley Scott himself has hit out at suggestions and the ratings the MPAA (American censors) telling them to “get their house in order”. We all understand when you run a business money is vital so at times need to charge a little more, people don’t mind paying a little more knowing that the end product is of the highest quality. However people won’t be entertained with a water down heavy cut version for the sake of more money at the box office, it makes you wonder if market research has been done properly to see if there is an interest in the age groups by having a cut down version or for that matter do their parents approve? Some films you can get away with it with destroying the integrity of the film others are made for a older audience and it should stay that way, as for Prometheus you wonder if there could be of those John Hurt chest popping moments and what we’re hearing there could well be one! Roll on 15 or 18 rating and let the kids have Twilight!

Monday 29th April Channel 4 around 9.10pm (GMT) the world premier of the new (UK) trailer for Prometheus will air on British television. When the trailer comes available online we’ll post it to make sure anyone with no access to the British channel can enjoy the trailer too! Want a tasty reminder? below is the current trailer!!!
