Ben Wishaw To Play Q in James Bond SKYFALL

We’ve known for a while that Ben Whishaw is part of the James Bond 23 sam Mendes directed flick SKYFALL but today we’ve learned what part he’ll play.

According to BBC the young British actor has the iconic Q role the master of the gadgets, the man who provides James Bond with weapons, ‘toys’ . This will also be the first time Q will be younger than James Bond (12 years) as the role was usually played by an older actor with the original gadget designer  was played by Desmond Llewelyn in From Russia With Love and most recently by John Cleese with Skyfall marking the return of the Q to the franchise after a 2 film absence.

In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her.  As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Whishaw is no stranger to Daniel Craig as the pair where in Matthew Vaughn’s Layer Cake, Whishaw has also appeared The Tempest, I’m Not There ,Brideshead Revisited.The actor will also be appearing in The Wachowski Brother’s  Cloud Atlas and and leading a production of Richard II as part of BBC’s Olympic celebrations.

SKYFALL also stars Judi Dench,Javeir Bardem , Ralph Feinnes ,Berenice Marlohe,  Albert Finney , Ben Whishaw andNaomie Harris with the film arriving October 26th 2012 in UK&Ireland.
