Anime Horror The Summer Hikaru Died Gets A New Trailer
After a long marketing run, anime The Summer Hikaru Died is only a few weeks from release. Netflix have dropped one final Trailer.
The Summer Hikaru Died is set in current day rural Japan. Yoshiki (Chiaki Kobayashi) and Hikaru (Shuichiro Umeda) are long time friends. Hikaru goes missing in the mountains after a trek only to return a week later. Yoshiki can see this looks like his friend, even sounds like home but there’s something different about him.
Netflix recent flurry of anime titles have been very good. This looks a mix of coming of age, horror and even Invasion Of The Body Snatchers…

Two best friends living in a rural Japanese village: Yoshiki and Hikaru. Growing up together, they were inseparable… until the day Hikaru came back from the mountains, and was no longer himself. “Something” has taken over Hikaru’s body, memories, feelings… and everything they know begins to unravel.
The voice cast also includes Wakana Kowaka as Rie Kurebayashi, Chikahiro Kobayashi as Tanaka, Yoshiki Nakajima as Yuta Maki, and Shion Wakayama as Yuki Tadokoro.
The Summer Hikaru Died will launch on Netflix on 5th July.
